There are signs to indicate the times. The return of the 17 year cycle cicada in the United States in 2021 is a very important one!  The biblical word for cicada is “locust,” which goes back to the Hebrew prime root word, rabah, meaning increase, gather, store. The 17 year cicada is coming up out of the ground, as Joseph, who being 17 years of age, came up out of the ground, retrieved from the pit in which his brothers threw him, entering Egypt, symbolizing the World, where he would gather and store the increase of corn for the coming famine, the corn symbolizing the spiritual word of God, for which there is now a growing hunger, as was written by the prophet Amos: “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the the words of the Lord.”  8:11.  The masses have been hearing the words of the Lord, but not through the orator of spiritual truth.  The only perspective with regard to the literal Word of God has been a religious one, which was established 17 hundred years ago by the Council of Nicea; a group of political and religious leaders that formed a government-sanctioned religion for the people to follow.

“Joseph, a parallel to Jesus— hated by his biological brothers, as Jesus was hated by his religious brothers. He was falsely accused and thrown into prison, as was Jesus. But in the end, both would bring salvation to the people. Joseph dwelt with his Hebrew brothers in the land of Canaan, as Jesus dwelt among his Jewish brothers in the land of Judea. And both entered Egypt in order to preserve their lives.” -THE BIBLE DECODED

Like the cicada, which disappears for 17 years, Jesus disappears from scripture between the ages of 13 and 30— for 17 years, spending time in that spiritual ground called the heart.  And what Jesus gave the World was spiritual corn; spiritual truth, the literal Word of God written in a symbolic language, which has preserved and protected this spiritual knowledge for over thirty-five hundred years.  It is a language that is foreign to the religious ear, which is why Joseph’s brothers did not understand his language, and why the multitudes did not understand Jesus’ parables.  When the famine waxed sore in all the land, the brothers of Joseph went down into Egypt to buy corn (Genesis 42:1,2), as many of those that proclaim to be God’s people will “buy in” to the spiritual knowledge and understanding that is appearing after 17 hundred years, which their religion has deprived them of, as was written by the prophet Hosea: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,” referring to destruction on a spiritual level.  To preserve their spiritual life, they, like the brothers of Joseph, will have to eat of the spiritual corn, which is to accept this spiritual truth into their heart through spiritual obedience.  When Jesus said “believe the works” (John 10:38) he was referring to ones obedience to the spiritual works through which one obtains spiritual life, which is salvation of the soul.

The Bible takes place within us:

When I left behind what was quickly becoming a religious mindset back in 1997, it was said that I had gone into the World.  Yes, I had gone into Egypt, after being thrown into a metaphorical pit by the rejection of those I once considered friends (Zechariah 13:6).  Like Joseph, who spent time in prison, I spent time in solitude, quieting my mind, the spiritual or symbolic meaning of  “silence in heaven,” through which I too came in contact with the baker and the butler, symbolizing the spirit and the word of God, also symbolized by the “two olive trees” or “two olive branches” (Zechariah 4:11-14), the olive pressed to make the oil used in physical anointing.  But it is only through the spiritual anointing of God’s holy spirit, which delivers the word of truth to our heart that we gain spiritual life through the removal of the spiritual flesh formed by our false religious and personal beliefs, as the cicada sheds its skin.  Once free of its skin, the wings of the cicada are given power. It is time to shed our coat of skin, thereby restoring the spiritual power through which we are made free mentally, emotionally, and physically, which is salvation of the soul.

The return of the 17 year cycle cicada is a sign, one that points to the return of spiritual truth, which has been buried; hidden from the masses for 17 hundred years.
