“Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of they wings will I make my refuge, until these calalmities be overpast.” Psalms 57:1

Some would argue that catastrophes are nothing new, that they have been going on since time began. Precisely. Time was the consequence of sin. The wages of sin is death.  Man’s sin is bringing more and more death.

“And God saw the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of the heart was only evil continually.”  Genesis 6:5. 

The wickedness of man is great in the earth because the evilness of man is great in what the earth symbolizes, which is the heart.  What followed was the flood, a story that with slight variations has been passed down in many cultures, making it all the more apparent that it is not about the physical flood, but about what the flood symbolizes, which is the spiritual evil in the heart of man, which is releasing a negative and destructive energy that is manifesting in the form of bigger and more powerful storms, in more powerful earthquakes, and in other mega catastrophic events.

“Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee… ” Jeremiah 2:19. 

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.  After the waters receded, God made a covenant with Noah, with his seed after him, and with every living creature that was with Noah. This covenant was made with Noah because he was righteous. It is man’s righteousness that will ensure his protection. God promised that he would not cut off flesh by the waters of a flood again, and that there would not be a flood to destroy the earth.  The definition of covenant is a binding agreement made by two or more parties. If one party breaks the covenant, the covenant becomes null and void.  Man has broken his covenant with God through unrighteousness.  Noah was saved by the works of building and entering the ark, as man, having entered the spiritual “era of Jacob” will be saved through the works of building a spiritual ark.  In performing these spiritual works, we are able to see our sin, and remove its negative and destructive energy, through which we enter an invisible ark of protection, while doing our part to decrease the negative and destructive energy being released in and upon the earth.  A culminative effort to put our sin in remission by removing our iniquities will lessen the intensity and frequency of these catastrophic events.
