Chapter Two: ISRAEL(excerpts)

And it came to pass in the process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.  Exodus 2:23

When we have a strong desire to change our life, we are crying out, activating the first covenant, Ishmael, meaning God will hear.

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman… which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants… Galatians 4:22,24

God’s covenant or agreement with us is that if we cry out, He will hear us, as He said to Moses, “tell the children (whose cry came up before God) I AM hath sent you,” I AM meaning I WILL BE THERE.  When we cry out, the holy spirit of our heart will be there to lead us out of the negative aspect of Egypt, out of the bondage or limitation caused by the flesh. The children of Israel have activated the Spirit, which Moses symbolizes, by crying out from their heart. The same Spirit that moved upon the waters in the beginning of creation is now moving upon the waters of the Red Sea, dividing it to expose the ground that will bring them salvation.

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord… But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. Exodus 14:13,16

The word still means be silent, quiet self, the rod symbolizing the power of the holy spirit, which is lifted up when we quiet our mind, bringing the waters under the firmament, symbolizing the thoughts and memories hidden in the mind, into our awareness, exposing the ground, revealing their source. And God called the dry ground Earth. When the negative and destructive thoughts that have been hidden in the depths of our mind are brought up, into the conscious mind, we discover the source of this evil, which is in the Earth, symbolizingthe Heart, thesubconscious. We must pass through these waters, as the children of Israel passed through the Red Sea, which is to be made aware of these lower thoughts. We cannot change or transform what is in darkness, what we do not see. Transformation requires light, the light of awareness. And it is our holy spirit that brings us into this light. We activate the holy spirit of our heart through our strong desire to change our life, starting the process that will bring us out of bondage, out of spiritual and physical addiction, out from under the law of limitation imposed by our word of error, which forms the flesh that fights against the holy spirit…  When we make a heart-felt decision to move away from a way of life that has become too painful, restrictive, or unpleasant, we engage our holy spirit, making our way through a spiritual wilderness, working on the fear that has ruled our mind since childhood. With each step we take, we build trust, knowing that all we need to succeed on this journey into a new way of life has already been given into our hand, symbolizing power. Through a process activated by the mind discipline of silence, we discover the many lies that have led us into a life we do not want or no longer take pleasure in. By peeling away the layers of flesh formed by our word of false beliefs, we complete our metamorphosis, emerging from the sinful flesh that has cocooned us for so long.  Emerging perfected through spiritual works, we will live joyfully in the new-found freedom that comes with a complete transformation, which is made possible through God’s spirit and word.

As we conclude with Israel, we see that it was the fear of their mind that prevented them from ascending the mount, illustrating our journey through the heart. It was this fear that gave power to the lies of their mind, which formed the veil of flesh over their heart, symbolized by the veil over Moses’ face, which the seed of truth, through which we are made free, could not penetrate. The children of Israel died under the bondage of the law; a law that controlled the mind and body, but did nothing to transform the heart. The way to complete freedom is through the heart; by healing the painful emotions associated with the false beliefs that keep us from feeling joy, and experiencing freedom, keeping us from the good life we inherit when we enter in and battle against the enemies of the heart.
